We want families, referrers and local organisations to be able to use this website regardless of device, technology or disability. This statement explains what we have done and how to tell us about a barrier.

Our accessibility commitment

The site has been built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as its practical target, even where a particular public-sector accessibility regulation does not apply to this privately operated project.

Technical checks cannot prove every accessibility requirement. We check the main journeys with a keyboard, browser zoom, narrow viewports and the browser accessibility tree. An independent specialist audit and complete assistive-technology test have not yet been completed, so we welcome real-world feedback.

What you should be able to do

navigate the public website and complete a request using only a keyboard;
skip repeated navigation and move through the page by landmarks and headings;
use a screen reader to hear form labels, required fields, errors, progress and results;
zoom text to 200% and use page zoom up to 400% without losing the core content or controls;
use the site in portrait or landscape orientation and at common phone, tablet and desktop widths;
see a visible focus indicator and use touch targets with adequate spacing; and
reduce non-essential motion through your device’s reduced-motion setting.

How we test

We check the home page, five-step gift-request form, request lookup, contact form and protected staff journeys, including application review, gift tracking and account management. Current checks cover semantic HTML, keyboard operation, focus order, error recovery, responsive layouts, zoom/reflow, reduced motion and colour contrast. We will update this statement as further browser and assistive-technology testing is completed.

The latest project review was carried out on 23 September 2026. Accessibility will be reviewed again when the form, content or handover journey materially changes.

Known limitations

We are not currently aware of a blocker in the main public journeys. That does not mean every combination of browser, device and assistive technology has been tested. If something prevents you from applying, checking a request or contacting us, please tell us and we will offer another route.
