Christmas gift support for eligible families

Something special,chosen for them.

We’re helping children and young people who will be aged 0–17 on 23 December 2026 and whose main household is in an eligible postcode district have something special to open this Christmas. Parents and guardians can apply directly, and trusted professionals can refer a family with permission.

We’ll contact accepted applicants before any collection point or home visit is arranged.

Chosen with each child in mind.

We read each request and use the child’s age, interests and gift ideas to guide our choices. We’ll make every reasonable effort to follow their preferences, subject to suitability and availability.

Gift support

A gift package shaped around them.

If Christmas gifts may be difficult to manage this year, you are welcome to apply. We won’t ask for financial evidence, and every request is considered privately and respectfully.

Tell us what they would enjoy. Share a specific wish, favourite hobbies, characters or teams, or ask us to choose from their interests.

Christmas packing note

One child. One thoughtful list.

Chosen with care
  1. A main gift chosen with them in mind

Guided by their age, interests and Christmas wishes.

  2. A festive extra

A small surprise or activity suited to their age.

  3. Books, games or creative activities

Something they can enjoy after Christmas Day, too.

  4. Practical items, when welcome

Pyjamas, clothing or toiletries where a family asks for them.

  5. An extra-special surprise

A larger gift may be included where it is suitable and possible.

  6. Flexible choices for teenagers

A requested item or gift card may suit them better than a traditional toy.

Who can apply

A simple, private request.

Parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over can apply for children in their family. An authorised professional can also refer a family with permission. In either case, the family’s main household must be in S35, S36, S63, S70 to S75, WF4 and WF9.

  1. Share a private request

Tell us about each child’s age, interests and Christmas wishes, plus only the practical details we need.

  2. We read every request

The project team considers each family individually and contacts the adult if anything needs clarifying.

  3. We agree the details

If a request is accepted, we’ll contact the adult to agree the handover location, time and arrangements.

Every request is considered: requests are not assessed in arrival order. We may receive more requests than we can fulfil, but we’ll support as many eligible children as we reasonably can.

Apply or refer a family

Handover day

Arranged around your family.

Gift handovers are planned for Wednesday 23 December 2026. No public route, venue or time has been confirmed yet.

If a request is accepted, we’ll contact the adult applicant or authorised referrer to agree a suitable collection point or home handover, along with access and privacy arrangements.

Possible formats, not confirmed venues

To be confirmed

To be confirmed

Possible football-ground collection point

This is one option being explored. No football-ground venue or time has been agreed.

To be confirmed

Possible community venue

We hope to arrange accessible community collection points, subject to venue agreement.

To be confirmed

Possible food-bank collection point

A local food-bank handover may be possible, but no participating location is confirmed.

To be confirmed

Possible home handover

Where needed, we can discuss a home visit directly with the adult applicant or referrer.

Optional car experience

Choose the experience separately from the handover location.

Every family can request a private handover without the car experience, ask for the Lamborghini experience if it is available, or leave the choice open until arrangements are discussed. Up to two Lamborghinis may be available at some agreed handovers, subject to the route, access, weather, safety and vehicle availability. Their appearance is never guaranteed, and the choice never affects a request or the gifts provided.

Privacy and safeguarding

Your family and their information are treated with care.

We collect only what is needed to consider the request, choose suitable gifts and arrange the handover. We do not publish a family’s identity or circumstances.

Handled privately

How we handle requests and concerns

  • We collect only the details needed to consider the request, choose gifts and arrange the handover.

  • Access is restricted to authorised project team members and contracted technical providers that operate the secure website, database and confirmation emails.

  • We do not publish the names or circumstances of children or families.

  • The default is no project photography of identifiable children. Any exception needs separate event-time consent and never affects support.

  • We communicate with the adult applicant or authorised referrer, never directly with a child.

  • A full address is requested only for a proposed home handover and stays in the protected staff area.

  • We do not ask for bank statements, dates of birth, schools or children’s contact details.

  • If somebody shares a safeguarding concern, staff listen, make a factual record and report it to the safeguarding lead. They do not investigate it themselves.

About stored requests: Makey Group Limited is the data controller. Gift-request records are scheduled for deletion after 31 March 2027 and contact enquiries after 180 days. If limited information must be kept longer for safeguarding, a complaint or a legal duty, it is moved to a separate restricted record with its own retention date.

Read the full data and privacy notice to see the lawful basis, service providers, transfers, rights and ICO complaint route.

For local organisations

A clear route for professional referrals.

If your organisation supports a family whose main household is in an eligible postcode district, you can make a referral with their permission. The professional route records your organisation, role and the family’s safe contact route.

How partners can help

  1. Talk with families who may welcome Christmas gift support
  2. Make referrals only with the family’s permission
  3. Help identify possible accessible handover venues
  4. Advise on safeguarding and practical arrangements

How can we help?

Families, referrers and organisations can ask about an existing request, making a referral, becoming a partner, handover arrangements or offering practical support.
